First of all I must apologize for my prolonged absence from the Suite; you deserve an explanation of why. After my family crisis, came a flood of freelance work which kept me busy up until now. Also I have a book project I'm working on and am currently pitching proposals left and right to many literary agents. The book is extremely painful to write, and has me in tears each time I revise--but it must be written, and I'm driven to finish it!
I have to take this opportunity to tell you about my talented daughter, Victoria. She's almost eleven years old and is a member of the White Mountain Horsemen's Association and 4-H. Yesterday, she made me so proud, I thought my heart would swell right out of my body--she came home with six, first place blue ribbons! Barrel racing is Victoria's forte along with other skill events in which she loves to participate in. The pride of a Mother's heart! On a more sombre note, tomorrow Victoria's horse, Pepper, is scheduled for a hernia operation, right here on our property at 10:30 am. Pepper was born with a hernia which got infected over two years ago. As we've only had her since last year, we didn't realize just how serious this can be! Dr. Tom White DVM explained that if one can get more than one finger up through the center of the lump, then there's a serious possibility, if ridden hard, that her insides can start protruding from this hole. That didn't seem too bright a future for Pepper, so it's surgery time tomorrow! Victoria eventually wants to barrel-race with, Pepper--so this surgery is a definite MUST. I'm going to be taking photos of the whole procedure with my digicam and may be posting a pic here at the Suite tomorrow afternoon for educational purposes. On the garden scene--my tulips and irises are thriving. So far, I have both yellow and red tulips in bloom, a joy to behold! The tulips lining the drive, look as if they will be purple or mauve, I'll just have to wait and see! I have planted brown onions and garlic, carrots, lettuce and spring onions in my veggie garden and the garlic and onion shoots are a rich spinach green color--must be all that horse manure! These veggies will be organic, of course. Mother nature's gifts of beauty are truly bountiful here on the mountain. Go To Page: 1 2
