With cold weather upon us - it will soon be blasting icy winds and snow into our clothes - it may be a good time to curl up with a good book. What type of book, you ask? Well - one about running of course.

As it happens, I had a delightful book come across my desk recently. After reading it, I knew each of you would enjoy this book.

The title may give you a clue to the treat you are in for - and without further ado I present " I RUN, Therefore I am - NUTS!" The book is authored by a delightful talent of wit and humor, and of course some depth of running experience.

The humorist has a name - Bob Schwartz - and many of you have already made his acquaintance with his amusing essays. I will promise that you will again chuckle and nod in agreement as you see yourself in this book too.

Every runner that has ever shoved a callused foot into a running shoe will find Bob handles everything from Carbo Loading to the Agony of Da Feet in a witty and spot-on manner.

Not only is Bob Schwartz a delightful writer, he has also been pounding the ground as an avid runner for more than 25 years. So he knows of what he writes . He is well known in mainstream running media and in addition to that has his own weekly syndicated newspaper column. Add to that the hundreds of essays published in regional and national publications such as Runner's World, Footnotes and many others, and you get the idea that Bob Schwartz is just what all runners need this year. He does, after all, celebrate running, life and the well thought quip - though I'm not certain if I have the order correct.

This delightful, hilarious book is full of information we can all relate to, and indeed need to hear again , and I promise you will never be bored. I'd say that this is one of the best books I've read in a long time. The titles of each chapter give you a hint as to the delightful time you will have with " I RUN, Therefore I Am - NUTS!"

I'd also like to mention that the illustrator of this book is another gem - the perfect choice to visually convey the humor the book contains. B.K. Taylor is well known illustrator and writer and his credentials are impressive. All well done, eye catching illistrations, from cover to cover.
