ran - with one of his feet sinking into the snow, clad only in a sock.
My husband and I were awakened by the blood curdling scream and bolted upright in the bed! What in the name of heaven was that? "Maybe that was in the alley," I suggested hopefully. We both got up and peered down the stairs. We didn't hear a sound. My husband whispered, "Maybe someone is hurt in the alley - perhaps we should call the police." I nodded in agreement. We both went down the stairs. We intended to peer out of the window located in the dining room and see if someone needed help.
