Running stories, runner tips and running links are what this web site are all about.
Go here for a complete list of running links. If you are looking for a good cause and want to help a runner who is helping some very special people, take a look at her Letter to All. A first grade class needs your number! Read their letter to you! I had so many requests the past few weeks for information about the Craftsbury Running Camp, that I thought I should cover this running camp again. Did you ever go to a summer camp when you were a kid? Well, a summer camp for adult runners where you don't have to cook a meal or wash a dish, where you can bask in the sun or go on group or solitary runs, is my idea of a perfect summer camp. No worries, no chores, no hassles! Just spending time with people from all walks of life who also love running. I thought it would be fun to discuss a great running camp my spouse and I went to . With the last few weeks of cold weather before us and spring already officially declared , I find myself yearning for the warmer days ahead. In Pennsylvania, where I live, the temperatures are still in the teens and twenties. I'm ready for a change! In the early part of March one year, as snow still blanketed the frozen ground, I called and made a reservation at a running camp located in beautiful Craftsbury Vermont. I had done some research on various camps and had decided that this was the one to try. We chose Master's week as the week we wanted to go. We were impressed by the list of events offered . Master's week is primarily for runners who are forty and over but they do not limit admission based on age. Upon arrival, we met with the coaches and the other runners who were signed up. We were given a tour of the dormitories , cabins, boat docks, and the dinning hall where we were to eat our three meals per day. We were told it was OUR vacation and encouraged to participate in as much or as little as we wanted. Let me say this about the food right now. Don't expect cafeteria type food at this camp. They serve delicious food and a lot of it!
