I have been ill recently and not able to train or do much of anything. In fact, just sitting here at this computer is a bit much for me. So please bear with me until next week when, hopefully, I will be better. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving (for those of you in the USA) and I hope you are all enjoying the weather before winter starts. I received an email this week from a runner. In it he explained that because of my previous article on skin cancer, he went to see his doctor. The end result was that the doctor found a skin cancer and sent him to a specialist to have it removed. The runner (Bob B.) added; "If I had not read your article, I would have never taken that step to go get this mole looked at! It scares me to think of how close a call this was. Thank you! Thank you for alerting runners to this deadly truth!" I am glad that the information contained within the article was enough to motivate this runner to take action. Bob concluded his email with the following; "I plan on telling my story at the next parents meeting at the PTA and stressing how important it is to do this simple skin check. Tell your readers that they should not put this off any longer. Or think they could not possibly be a candidate for cancer. No matter how healthy they are. I am only 32 years old and have dark skin and hair, so I was actually not in the high risk group. Thanks for saving my life!" You are welcome Bob, but it was your decision to act that actually saved
