I hope all of you will bear with me for repeating the warning I posted last week. I feel it is important for everyone to consider the article below. If you already read it, but did not go to the link, perhaps you will today... right?

First; an update on the Harrisburg Marathon. Unfortunately, my knee will not allow me to run the marathon. Although I would have dearly enjoyed the course, it is not to be this year.

Right now I am focused on minimizing the damage to my right knee and following a course of rest and more rest for the time being. Is it difficult to do? Yes and no.

Yes - because I am in tip-top condition to run, with the exception on my right knee and no - it is not difficult to decide this - because I can not run with ITB. Injuries happen and I just have to make the best of it. The last thing any runner wants to hear is that we can not, must not run. I certainly don't enjoy hearing this, but I will do whatever it takes until I can run again.

I'm in the 'can't-run-club' for a while, but I have high hopes that this will change soon. I'll keep you posted.

I'll explain. On October 16, my husbands 50 th birthday, we were told that a lesion that had been removed was Malignant Melanoma. To make a very long story short, we knew that early detection was vital if the cancer was to be contained. However, the spot had been on his back for a long time. The news looked as if it was to be very bad indeed. However, days later, the pathology report showed some very good news which was confirmed by a cancer specialist. The cancer had not yet spread down deep enough to have invaded his lymph system and therefore, his body. We were very fortunate!
