Dear Editor,

Someone mentioned that there is a web site that has a list of homes that a runner can stay at when they are going to run a race in an out-of-town city. Is this true and have you ever heard of it? Cheers, J.P.

Dear J.P.

Yes, there is indeed a web site that has a list of runners willing to host other runners. Here is the link to it; The name of the web site is Runner's Circle. Take a look at their web site to find out all the details. ( You will also find them listed in my links area.) Hope this helps.

Dear Editor,

I have been told the problem I am having with my left foot is PF. The thing is, I want to keep running although I was told the only way to cure this is to stop running. I know all about the low impact training I can do, but I intend to keep running so what can I use to do this? KM

Dear Km,

Well, I won't talk to you about not running, nor will I discuss water running, biking and so on - since you indicated in your e-mail that you know about that.

Here is something that may help. It certainly helped me and many runners I know that have PF (Plantar Fasciitis ) when they used this.

Use cloth or paper tape, one inch wide, and tape an X under the arch of your foot. This reduces stress of the plantar fascia and provides amazing relief.

You may also want to look at some of the new compression wraps that have just come out. Take a look at Road Runner Sports (see my link in the link area of this web site) and check out their Arch Pro Tec support or their Footsmart Arch Brace. One is adjustable, one os not, but both provide the support needed to help your condition.

Here is their toll free number in case you want to call for those items or for their free catalog; 1-800-551-5558.

Hopes this helps!

Note: I will be out of town for one week; August 14 thru 22. Where, you ask? Read on!
