Over Use Injuries. A Reminder.

Just a reminder that we have a new sweepstakes! Go here to enter and for the rules. Good Luck!

The following information about certain leg injuries will be extremely useful to you. You may want to bookmark it.

Do you remember an article I wrote about the FootFlex? Well, I think as we all are increasing our running mileage, that this reminder will be very helpful. The following information comes from their web site, with their permission. Go here to the article and to their web site. which is here. Go take a look at this wonderful device! I have one, use one and can tell you as a runner that has suffered with PF and a sore achilles tendon that this really works!

OUOTE: "Lower extremety injuries (overuse injuries) can be the result of direct injury to a muscle or tendon, or as the result of indirect injury from compensation for a lack of motion or flexibility in other anatomical structures, joints, muscles or tendons.

The use of the FootFlex P.S.D. can help to prevent and rehabilitate injuries by establishing and maintaining proper flexibility in the calf muscle complex. The calf muscle complex consists of the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles, which combine to form the Achilles tendon.

This muscle-tendon complex is the strongest of the lower leg and lack of flexibility in this region can result in calf muscle strains, Achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, shin pain, and other lower extremity overuse injuries."

Thanks to the FootFlex web site for this information!

Now that the weather is warming up be sure to increase your fluid consumption before, after and during each run. If you are wondering how to get back into training again for any type of running, you may want to check out my article about one good way to do so.

See you next week!

For those of you that missed it, you may want to take a look at my newly published book!
