a hint.

He still sets goals for himself, and they are still impressive!

Over the past few years Ted has been to about half a dozen of the New York City Marathons and walked them. He finished under six hours twice, with a best of 5:52. In 1997 he did a 6:29.

He recently walked 77 miles in a 24 hour race and he has done several 12 hour walks . In one, he walked over 46 miles!

His plans for the future include possibly learning to race walk. He said, " if I learn to race walk with the proper form, I might have a shot at two unfulfilled goals; walking 50 miles in less than 12 hours and 100 miles in less than 24".

Ted, if anyone can do it, you can!

Ted Corbitt still works part time as a Physical Therapist and offers coaching advice to a number of runners. He gives talks to running groups on Stretching, Training and Nutrition.

Thank you Ted for all you have done!

I have listed at the end of this article some of the Honors he has received and his Hall of Fame induction's.

To date, Ted has run and completed 199 marathons and ultra-marathons. He has walked in quite a few also. Keep in mind that the races were few and far between in the early years of his career.

Note:

In 1974 Ted ran the Boston Marathon. His time was 2:49. It was his 175th marathon . It is amazing to note that his race was less than one minute slower than his first Boston Marathon....23 years earlier!

You know, I for one would like to see a movie about him!
