First things first. Next week starting October first, I am having an exciting contest again. Believe me when I say you absolutely will want this prize!

What will it cost you? Zip, zero, nothing. Be sure not to miss this great contest!

Before I continue the article regarding shoes; I wanted to let you all in on a wonderful discovery!

I have come across a set of remarkable tapes for the runner.

The set is called "Marathon: Going The Distance" and features interviews with many great long distance runners .

I have to tell you, even though I am not able to compete in a thon right now, those tapes have inspired me to set my goals for next year.

Paul Kennedy, (of CBC radio fame), self-proclaimed middle-of-the-pack thoner, and Peter Fonseca, 2:11 marathoner winner, ( former Olympian & veteran of the Commonwealth Games), produced this remarkable tape.

Amby Burfoot says; "Any marathoner, from beginner to veteran, will be inspired by Marathon; Going The Distance. It's the perfect motivation for that long weekend run...or any run in fact."

The background on the tapes has the sounds of the New York City Marathon that Paul ran while he recorded the entire race. It is some pretty neat stuff!!

He then has some of the world's greatest runners share their secrets of what it takes to "go the distance."

Alberto Salazar, Grete Waitz, Bill Rodgers, Joan Benoit-Samuelson, Frank Shorter, Katherine Switzer motivate us with their encouraging statements.

Just think - you'll be able to train with some of the world's greatest runners if you take them along on your run!!

Here is the web site called Run For Your Life for you to get more information. If I were you, I'd bookmark it!
