Patriotic Stamps for the All American Stamper

It would be hard not to let the events of the past week enter into this article. As the world watches and America begins to recover from the tragedy that beset us on Tuesday, September 11th, it seems imperative that we commit to a renewed sense of pride in our country. I thought it might be appropriate to write about the availability of patriotic stamps on the web and encourage everyone to create an "American" design as part of your next stamping effort.

One of the easiest projects is a Santa Stamp you may currently own with shades of red, white and blue used to color the image. Uncle Sam will come to life before your very eyes. With a Pop-dot or foam square mount the image on cardstock or paper with a patriotic design and you have a card worthy of a parade.

At http://www.wackywagon.com/cindy.html you can find jewelry thats already crafted. From earrings to pins you can tell people your proud to be an American. If you prefer to stamp your own image and create your own look, use shrink plastic and stamp a large image. Add color with markers and shrink the plastic according to manufacturer's directions. Make several at once and give to co-workers or neighbors so they, too can participate in the show of patriotism.

Order the patriotic mailbox- number D1108 from Impression Obsession and use it to stamp all your outgoing envelopes. The url is http://www.impression-obsession.com/mail...

For a family craft you could get a stamping kit from Stampourri.com and create the Uncle Sam Bear. Bake some cookies and add the Bear card and take them to your local fire station or police station with your kids to say how grateful you are to have those public servants in your community. The url for this site is http://www.stampourri.com/stampingkits/p...

Other sites also have great patriotic images. I've listed the urls below so that you can check out the appropriate sites: http://www.rubberstampgoods.com/patrioti... http://www.impressivestamps.com/patriot.... http://www.heroarts.com/ideas/occaions/c... As always, please check out the sites that are five star favorites of mine for more patriotic images and ideas. Although the next few weeks will be hard, any positive effort we can make will help us to remain strong and not let those who would defeat us succeed in their evil efforts.

Leslie,

Thanks for another great article. I love ruber stamping and have tons. Now I am adding new patriotic stamps to my collection in order to stamp greeting cards for friends serving overseas. ...
