A Mother Like No Other, (deserves a rubber stamped card!)

Mother's Day is a fantastic opportunity to share your creativity with the one that created you. Spend time making a card for your mom, adopted mom, best friend's mom, your favorite mom-to-be, grand-mom, aunt who was a surrogate mom, a mom whose refridgerator you raided on a daily basis...you get the idea.

Since most women like flowers, you won't miss a trick if you use the new Personal Stamp Exchange stamps that feature botanical flowers. Stamp these in a soft sepia tone on a cream or ivory colored paper for a lovely victorian botanical print. Include a packet of seeds and you have card and gift in one. Personal Stamp Exchange does not sell their products at their site at http://www.psxstamps.com but will send you to Sierra-enterprises to purchase their products. While you are on the Sierra site you might want to check out their projects. They are listed by theme and then grouped by difficulty. I found the directions to be clear and concise and especially liked the fact that techniques were highlighted in the instructions to transport you to a detailed explanation of anything you might not have experience with. So, for instance, if you've never sponged a project before, you can just click on the highlighted word, sponge, and a description of the process is there to talk you through the work.

Soft colors speak of spring, and no where are they more artfully demonstrated than the new Hero Arts line Shadow Stamps. The Stamps are basically geometric shapes, but they are so much more when used with the Shadow Stamp dye ink pads. The pads come in two sizes and eight gorgeous colors that demonstrate soft can be just as beautiful as bold, no matter what the networks say! When you combine the ink and the stamp you have wonderful backgrounds for you artwork from whimsical to romantic. What mom wouldn't love to be given a card with this look. Visit http://www.heroarts.com and go to the section on new products. Also visit their project site for ideas and tips. The projects are labeled with small hearts, one heart designating an easy project and three hearts designating those with a higher degree of difficulty.

http://www.stamparosa.com has a new granule product that is supposed to resemble Cloisonne enamelware. (Hence, the name of the product-Cloisonne!) Perhaps you could design a pin or earrings, using this product and your trusty heat gun.

If your mom has been to the tropics lately, you might want to visit http://www.stampendous.com and check out their new Aloha collection. These stamps will help you remind her of the islands with their exotic flavor. Use them as borders on the card edge or center one perfect flower to make the perfect card.
