New Stuff, New Sites-HIA ReportI've decided that I don't need to worry about weightlifting as part of my exercise program in January from now on. I get plenty of upper body strength from lifting suitcases full of brochures I picked up at the Hobby Industry of America trade show in California. This show is the "Granddaddy of em' all" for the art and craft supply community and is held once a year in January. This year it was held in Anaheim and with over 9000 booths full of wonderful products I guarantee I probably missed something. But I did find some wonderful products for stampers and some new sites to visit where you can see the latest in stamps and stamp paraphanalia. Although making your own envelopes is nothing new for rubber stampers, the process of inventing new types of envelopes and alternative styles continues. The Envelopes Please! is a company dedicated to making sure we all have a wonderful way to send our stamped projects. They introduced six new templates made of reusable translucent polystyrene. There is a money gift card holder template-great for June brides and graduates, a photograph holder template, a mini sctrach pad holder template...for 3" x 5" scratch pads or mini legal pads and a mini note pad holder template for 3" x 3" restickable note pads. They even have an envelope template with six mini envelopes...great for a faux stamp or storing a lock of baby's hair in a scrapbook. Visit their site at www.stampawayusa.com/pages/ep.htm For those of you looking for an upscale artistic paper source, you need go no further than Paper Stuff. Suggested uses include direct to paper techniques with pigment inks and clear embossing, adding inclusions of gold leaf flakes or bits of fossil leaves and mini collage with a stamped image on top. The collage collections contain one 8.5" x 11" art paper and four 5.5" x 8.5" coordinated papers, as well as coordinated embellishments and come in 24 styles. Peacock Fantasy even as a real peacock feather! The url for this company is actually www.fascinating-folds.com but if you go to their search section and type in stamp squares and collage collections you'll see these wonderful products. Visiting with various venders, I overheard several mention Marco Paper...and investigating their site made me see why they are so popular. They have an
