Stick To It! A Rubber Stamper's Guide to AdhesivesWe've all been here. We have stamped the perfect image. We have embossed without having friendly little spots show up all over our background paper. We are ready to adhere our image to the cardstock, mat-board or other background when we discover our glue-stick is dry, our glue-gun no longer works or we're out of double-sided tape! I can't guarantee that I'll help you remember to pick up adhesive the next time you're in your favorite craft or rubber stamp store...or, surfing the net, but I hope I can inspire you to try some of the new adhesives out there to make your projects stick together in style! One of my favorite adhesives is by the Sailor Corp. It is their Sailor 2 in 1 Glue Pen. This pen has a ball-point tip that allows for fine-lines to be laid down. It dries very clear so that if you've stamped on vellum the glue line is not intruding on the beauty of your project. The product is available on the web at http://www.office1000.com/p200/312.htm/ Check out the Thermo-web site. Their Peel and Stick Adhesive can be used to adhere tiny beads and embellishments to your projects and comes in rolls or sheets depending on your needs. It is double sided and very sticky! The other product you may be interested in trying is Thermo-webs Sticky-Dots Adhesive. If you like to use mini-stamps and cut them out and add them to your cards, this is the product for you. You simply lay your cut-out image on to the mini adhesive dots, lay the cover sheet down, press and pull-up the cover-sheet. The image back is now covered with tiny adhesive dots. This products also works well if you are are into punches or die-cuts. The url for Thermo-web is http://www.thermoweb.com. They do have a section for rubber-stampers that wasn't up yet...but you can find the products I've mentioned in the general crafts section and in the scrap-book section...and the product is available at most Wal-Marts and JoAnn's fabrics. No article on adhesive for rubber-stampers would be complete without referring you to US Art Quest. They have so many great adhesive products for Ah-That's Great Tape to Perfect Paper Adhesive. If you've not been to their site, make it a point to check them out. http://www.usartquest.com Sometimes we can get carried away with the adhesives we are using. In that case you'll want to have a bottle of Un-du in hand. This is an awesome product, not just for crafting. This stuff will take bumper stickers and parking decals off cars, price tags off ceramics, picture frames and mirrors, even duct tape off toilet paper, (not a common problem I realize, but a killer demonstration of how wonderful this stuff works!)Their url is
