At RPG Net, the "inside scoop on gaming" this month includes a report of the GAMA Trade Show. For us unlucky gamers who don't get the first peeks at new releases, reading the report is the next best thing. We can look forward to lots of new CCGs, some new gaming systems and supplements for the oldtimers.
The Interactive Fiction Writers' Forum continues its series of author interviews with a chat with Ian Finley, creator of Babel, which took second place in the 1997 IF Competition. Babel also won the Xyzzy award for Best Story. Not bad for Finley's first game. :P The New York Times ran an article on IF, in its business section of all places. With the exception of the Infocom games, IF is usually a labor of love without commercial returns. Still looking for a convention near you? Maybe one of these will fit the bill:
