The New, The Old, and The Gatherings

This was a interesting week for browsing the 'net. Additions to the vast world of online gaming include a club, a 'zine and a MUSH:

World's Away Online Roleplaying Club is a place for all gamers to get together and play. Read the member's manual for more information on how the club runs.

TEAR is a RP 'zine about to get up and running. If you'd like to write for it, email Goth Guy at thefuggimator@geocities.com.

A Victorian MUSH, Empire of Shadows is now open. Vampires, mages, wraiths and mortal apps are welcome. What makes EoS different? They focus on a rich, accurate setting with heavy background support to generate RP, rather than the traditional staff-run tinyplot.

The Web being such a vast place, there's always some old goodies to be discovered as well. Here's this week's finds:

Mage, anyone? Paradigma Online -The Journal of the Progressive Sciences is a tongue-in-cheek look at science from the World of Darkness viewpoint. Articles in the latest issue include: "Olfactometric OverLoader," "n Dimensional Reality," and, of course, "The Vampire." For the Mage STer, there are gaming devices available under "Theory and Practice."

All Things Medieval, Renaissance and Fantasy lives up to its name. This web site has something for everyone interested in RPing back in the days of chivalry. Find out what daily living was like back then, or look up a faire nearest you.

Of course, you don't have to go back to King Arthur to attend a faire. There are many of the modern equivalent, Ye Olde Convention, coming up in the next few months. Take a look:
