New Feature: Rott-N Literature

This really is a very cute story that should appeal to boys and girls alike. Gentle Willy is a very loveable character. In fact, I had more sympathy toward the lonely Rottie who desperately wants a friend than toward the lead character. But then again, I am a bit biased.

Despite the fact that several issues in the story deal with loss and change, Wallace keeps the tone light and fun. He gives his readers quite the dose of humor, sometime enough to make you laugh out loud. Weighing in at around 100 pages, the book also contains some very humourous illustrations.

Wallace has also written a sequel titled: Upchuck and the Rotten Willy: The Great Escape. I have yet to read this one. Perhaps it will be one of the future books I feature.

In short, with Christmas rapidly approaching, perhaps Upchuck and the Rotten Willy would make a good gift for any of those younger Rottie fans out there. However, those of us who are simply young-at-heart should also get a kick out of it.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! See you next month.
