Chelsea's Story Part 3First off, I would like to apologize for being a little late with this article. There has certainly been a lot of news this past month. For those of my readers who don’t know, after several weeks in the hospital, my grandfather passed away. He was diagnosed with inoperable cancer. However, while in the hospital, he developed pneumonia, which finally claimed him. On the way to Heaven, I’m sure he made a stop at the Rainbow Bridge to pick up an enormous pack of hounds and sporting dogs. On a much happier note, the test results for Chelsea finally came back. After hounding the lab for weeks, my vet finally got through to the actual doctor who performed the tests. The results were NEGATIVE!! The vet still isn’t sure exactly what was going on with Chelsea’s rump, but at least she’s much better now. And finally, we have a new member of the pack … temporarily at least. He is a year old male from Southern States Rottweiler Rescue by the name of Zane that I am fostering for a while. He is a whopper of a dog, but still a puppy at heart. In fact, even though he is bigger than Chelsea, he still doesn’t look like he’s grown into proportion with his feet! He’s a handsome fella. His picture can be found at the Southern States Rottweiler Rescue website (check my links). He seems to have latched onto me and refuses to let me out of his sight when I am home. Unfortunately, he seems to believe that any time I spend at the computer is time wasted that could be spent petting him. As for Chelsea, I’m not so sure she’s entirely pleased with the situation. She is definitely the dominant queen of the household. Right now, they have a sibling-like relationship. She tries to bully him when she thinks she can get away with it. He steals her toys when she’s not looking. Then she sits on his head for revenge. In fact, as I’m typing, he’s lying down with a huge, hard rubber pacifier in his mouth and she’s practically standing on him, licking his ears. As for me, I’ve only got one comment. “And I thought Chelsea had bad gas?!!” I think something in this dog is dead and decaying. Plus, it’s been a long time since I’ve had to deal with this much energy cramped into a furry package.
