The past few months have been quite eventful at Casa de Sephie. Some events were good and some ... well, I guess a perfect life would be kind of boring.
Sephie Gives Birth We have a new member of the extended family. My uncle recently bought a beagle puppy. Jake is what is referred to as "lemon" in color, meaning he has no black in his markings, just beige and white. So basically, he is the least Rottweiler looking creature in existence. But what was Sephie's reaction to this strange new creature when he first arrived? "OH MY GOSH! WHY DID YOU BLEACH MY PUPPY?!" Yes, Sephie had unofficially given birth. Much to Jake's dismay of course. The little fuzz ball had no idea what to make of this giant, black creature shoving him around with her nose. And as for Sephie, I must admit, I am not sure what exactly to make of her maternal skills. She would deliberately knock him off balance just so she could try to nose him back to his feet. Poor little bloke. As Jake has grown, so has his energy. Dingo is ecstatic with the new addition. Finally, there is someone in the family who can keep up with him. So, unfortunately for Sephie, her "child" has now abandoned her and fallen in with the ultimate bad influence, Dingo. Whenever together, Dingo and Jake are thick as thieves. They chase each other (usually with Jake baying at the top of his lungs), they wrestle, and they even try to sit on each other. Poor Sephie is left standing off to the side with a left out look on her face. Of course, by now she has realized that the puppy is not her own. However, now she wants to flirt with the tiny little squirt. I guess she's got a thing for young blondes. Unfortunately for Sephie, Dingo is extremely jealous when it comes to his new, interactive "toy". And Dingo is not shy about making his opinion known if Sephie tries to lure his new buddy away. It's actually rather sad that Dingo is more loyal to my uncle's puppy than his is to his own roommate. Sephie - Star of the Obedience Ring We had a major event last month; Sephie entered her first official obedience ring. A local Australian Shepherd club held two obedience trials that were open to all breeds. I wasn't entirely sure how ready the old girl was for this adventure, but decided to give it a shot.
