'Betty Prior' is a lovely Floribunda seedling of 'Kirsten Poulsen' which displays large clusters of single pink blooms. Growing to 3 ft. (90 cm), it is very useful in northern gardens because it is rated to USDA Hardiness Zone 5. It is rated 8.2 ("excellent")

'China Doll' is a smallish Polyantha, growing to 18 in. (45 cm) and showing off large clusters of 1 1/2 in. (4 cm) medium pink blossoms. It is also rated 8.2 by the ARS.

'Gruss an Aachen' is a beautiful Floribunda that will ultimately grow to 3 ft. (90 cm). Some consider this rose to be the first Floribunda ever produced. Its 3 in. (8 cm) shell pink blossoms are edged in salmon and are very fragrant. It is rated 8.3.

'Marie Pavie' has been one of my favorite Polyanthas ever since I won the Victorian Queen Trophy with her at a rose exhibition. Growing to 3 ft. (90 cm), this near "thornless" rose produces clusters of light pink buds that open to blush pink, 1 in. (2.5 cm) blooms with bright yellow stamens. She's rated a whopping 8.8 (a high "excellent") by the ARS, and hardy to Zone 5.

Another great Polyantha is 'Perle d'Or' which produces orange-changing-to-pink blossoms in highly fragrant clusters. Growing to 3 1/2 ft. (1 m), this rose is hardy to Zone 6 and rated 8.3 by the ARS.

Container growing can provide the gardener some flexibility when choosing roses to adorn the landscape. With a little extra care, the problems encountered with containering can be minimized.
