"A romantic comedy about love, destiny and other events you just can't plan for."

Mary Fiore is a competent, starry-eyed, detail-oriented wedding planner who can't find a groom of her own. As she says, "Those who can't wed...plan." When pediatrician Steve Edison saves her life--and shoe--she thinks she may have finally found love only to learn he's her client's fiancee. Torn between love and livelihood, Mary tries to remain professionally detached as she helps plan the one wedding she wants to be bride, not boss, in.

Jennifer Lopez is delightful as the efficient turned enamored nuptials coordinator. From prim and proper to sassy and soused, she gives Mary a sweet charm that's far removed from the unabashedly sexy J.Lo we typically see.

Matthew McConaughey is all Colgate and charisma as Dr. Steve. A real Prince Charming with a soft southern accent, a ready grin and a penchant for rescuing damsels in distress.

Props to Justin Chambers who plays the irresistible Italian, Massimo. While he didn't steal Mary's heart, he did mine. A strong supporting cast also adds to the fun and frivolity. Alex Rocco plays Mary's well-meaning, but interfering father, Salvatore, Bridgette Wilson-Sampras is the beautiful and likeable (though you don't want to) Fran (Steve's intended), Judy Greer is scene-stealing as the plucky Penny, and Joanna Gleason and Charles Kimbrough are too-funny as Fran's snoockered and snooty parents.

'The Wedding Planner' is sentimental and sweet. A romantic comedy of yesteryear. No sex. No skin. No spit swapping. There's humor and heart, but there's also triangles and tears. For that I give it three and half hearts. Make it your plan to watch this delightful movie that will have you rooting for everyone.

Best lines:
"Cover me up North, the FOB is MIA." Mary's job jargon

"I found you a man who's agreed to marry you." Mary's dad

"I don't trust a man that gets regular pedicures." Mary

"Most grooms are NIDs. Not into details." Mary to Francine

"You saved my...shoe." Mary to Steve

"Steve's glued to his pecker." Steve getting too friendly with a statue

"I know the curves of your face and every fleck of gold in your eyes and I know that night in the park was the best time I've ever had." Steve to Mary

"Someone once told me they have less artificial flavoring because chocolate is already brown and it kind of stayed with me."
"You kind of stayed with me." Mary explaining to Steve why she's only eating the brown M&M's.
