Pillow Talk

Finally, a big "Thank you!" to Maxine Sullivan in Australia for this recommendation. I loved it! Pillow Talk is sexy, sassy, and soooo much fun. The dialogue is clever, quick and laugh-out-loud funny. The romance is delightful with great chemistry and affection between Doris and Rock. Basically, there were a millions things to like about this film. I give Pillow Talk my highest rating of five hearts for it's excellent blend of love and laughter.

Best lines:
"If I could get a call in every once in awhile my life wouldn't be so drab." Jan

"Why does she have to go out and get stoned every night?"
"Oh, I don't know, Harry. Maybe she's got a party line." Jan and her elevator operator.

"I'm Ms. Dickinson. I'm an inspector."
"What would you like to inspect?"
"You." Brad and the telephone inspector.

"It's like sending a marshmallow to put out a bonfire." Jan, when she finds out a woman went to inspect Brad.

"Love isn't an opinion, it's a chemical reaction." Jonathan

"So that's the other end of your party line." Brad as he takes notice of Jan's backside.

"Never drink anything stronger than you are. Or older." Brad

"I don't know how he moves, but it takes an early bird to get the best of a worm like me." Jonathan

"It's to make sure you do plenty of scoring up there."
"I'll do my best." Jonathan talking about music and Brad talking about Jan.

"I look upon Brad Allen like any other disease. I've had him. I'm over him. I'm immune to him." Jan

Best moment:
The split-screen, bath-tub scene. I LOVED how their feet "touched" in the middle, even appearing as if Brad actually tickled her foot in one moment. The scene was sexy and squeaky clean all at the same time.

If you liked this you might like:
Lover Come Back, which re-teams Doris, Rock and Tony.

Did you know?
Rock was unable to get cast in school plays because he couldn't remember his lines. In his first movie, Fighter Squadron he had to repeat one line thirty-eight times until he got the take right.

Doris originally dreamt of being a dancer, but a terrible car crash when she was fourteen shattered that dream.
