Fools Rush In

"Does dad know about him?"
"Nope."
"Ha ha. And I wasn't going to come tonight." To Alex, "Good luck."
"So, uh, your father, is he a big man?" Isabel, her brother Juan and Alex.

"Alex, this is Chuy (pronounced chewy). He is a very good friend of the family. We grew up together."
"Chuy, hi, Luke Skywalker. How are ya?" Long uncomfortable silence. "Sorry, you probably get that a lot." Isabel and Alex.

"Hold her head, hold her head."
"Why? Does it come off?" Alex questioning the directions he's received on holding a baby.

"You're the one. You're everything I never knew I always wanted." Alex to Isabel.

"See, now, this is the kind of conversation that usually happens on a second date." Isabel's friend, Lanie, after hearing them argue.

"Alex is alone with your brothers?"
"And Chuy."
"I better light another candle." Isabel and her mom.

"Lucy, you've got some 'splainin' to do." A very drunk and prickly Alex.

"Why are you afraid of me? Why do you alienate me from your life?" Isabel to Alex.

"Love is a gift, Alex, not an obligation."
"Look, this is the brass ring. I've worked my entire life for an opportunity like this and I'm not giving it up because I put a $5 ring on your finger in front of Elvis as a witness." OUCH! Isabel and Alex.

"You will never know love unless you surrender to it." Isabel's Great-grandmother.

"There are signs everywhere." A priest to Alex.

"And you were wrong. The baby didn't bring us together. It was something else, something bigger. I just didn't believe it until now." Alex to Isabel.

Best moment:
There are several great moments, but I love it when Alex see's the "signs" telling him what to do. Sometimes you need only listen to the fates to learn your destiny.
