Englishman Kinsey Darrow has taken much from Sir Arryn Graham in the name of Edward Longshanks--not only does Darrow devastate Hawk's Cairn--Graham's holding, but he murders Graham's wife and unborn child in a terrifying fire. Vowing to avenge their deaths, Arryn and his men head for Seacairn--Scottish lands that will belong to Darrow upon his marriage to the Lady Kyra.

With Darrow away on business for the English King, Seacairn proves to be Graham's for the taking. But that is not enough---Graham vows to despoil Darrow's betrothed. Not an easy task, he realizes, when he sets eyes the matronly lass presented to him. But before Graham can conquer the lady, a masked swordsman initiates a fight. Graham bests the man, only to see that hidden behind the mask is a woman---and none other than the Lady Kyra herself.

An unwilling subject, Lady Kyra threatens Arryn that for his part in taking the Scottish holding from an Englishman, he shall be hung, drawn and quartered like all traitors to the King. Sir Arryn reminds Lady Kyra of her own Scottish descent and the barbaric practices of Edward, Hammer of the Scots, not to mention those of her intended.

Confident that the tables will turn against England with the rebellion led by freedom fighter, William Wallace, Arryn joins forces with the outlaw. Meanwhile, battles not only rage with the English on the field, but with the wild-tempered and cunning Lady Kyra in the bedroom.

We all know that the Scots win the Battle of Stirling Bridge...but will Sir Arryn win back his heart?

CONQUER THE NIGHT will delight the hearts of historical romance lovers. Set in an fascinating period in British History---the Scottish Wars of Independence of the 13th Century, it incorporates the intriguing, central characters of the era, including Wallace and Longshanks, with memorable characters of Drake's own creation. Lady Kyra is feisty and spirited, Sir Arryn strong and determined. Together, they send sparks flying out from the pages.

In this second book of the Graham Family Saga, SHANNON DRAKE even surpasses the passion of the first book, COME THE MORNING---which features the romance of Mellyora and Waryk de Graham in the days of King David of Scotland.
