While mourning the death of her beloved father--the feared and respected Viking Warrior Adin, Melloyora Mac Adin suffers a fate she believes to be worse than death.

King David of Scotland has not only bequested her family's holding of the Blue Isle to a despicable Norman, but her lovely hand in marriage, as well. Unwilling to give up her family's lands to a Norman and determined to marry for love, Mellyora takes matters into her own hands and flees Stirling Castle. Mellyora's actions portray her likeness to her father in bravery and spirit, as to defy the King is treason, an act punishable by hanging!

After successfully scaling the castle walls, Mellyora encounters another obstacle on her path to her heart's desire. Unwittingly, she has runs straight into the iron grasp of a handsome laird, the strong and virile Waryk de Graham. She pleads for his assistance in escaping, relaying the king's unforgiveable plot to marry her off to a vile and ancient Norman.

DeWaryk, too had been summoned to see the King. Soon, the reason becomes very clear. Old and decrepit Norman, indeed! Instead of escaping the king's clutches, Mellyora has played right into his hand.

COME THE MORNING is charming, witty and captivating, with strong and enchanting characters which the reader will want to follow to the next books of this series. SHANNON DRAKE creates first-class passion and yet another memorable saga in the romance of Mellyora and Waryk.

Although it seems to start out a little slower than some of the author's other books, it is definitely a must read that will keep the Heather Graham/Shannon Drake followers thirsting for more.
