Healthy Lov'n

Not that we really need a specific reason to fill our days and nights with all the love we can...but, if there was ever any disbelief of the magnitude of love, this article should provide lots of proof and inspiration.

There's plenty of scientific evidence to explain why all we really need is indeed love, glorious love! Studies have repeatedly supported the claim that people who openly and frequently give and receive love are not only more happy individuals, but they also tend to live healthier lives. So, it's true: love is good for each and every one of us! Spread the word and share the facts.

We've probably all heard that it takes far fewer muscles to frown than to smile. It may have been hard to believe at first, but once put to the test, it truly does feel better and easier to smile. Still, as times change and people become more distant, closed off, and self-centered in their busy rush of schedules, they also become colder towards one another. Likewise, health reports indicate parallel deteriotation. This is where the basis for the healing powers of love comes into play.

The word love, as used here, is inclusively suggesting intimacy, romance, nurturing, emotional, mental, physical and even spiritual connectedness. These are all forms of the healing sources between a person and his/her close companions. The science of pleasure presents such lifestyle patterns as being good for one's health (both mentally and physically). Specifically, loving relationships benefit the immmune and cardiovascular systems, reduce stress levels, aid in preventing illness and disease, and can even increase the overall life span. Perhaps, as more studies are conducted and more and more medical specialists become educated on the real-life benefits of "love therapy," maybe societies around the world will begin to honor and even prescribe open hearts along with medicines, vitamins, and physical therapies. Proper diet and exercise will undoubtedly remain part of the structure of good health practices, but love is equally as important to include in major proportions!

Of course, the extreme form of indulging a single or couple pleasure principle, is hedonism. If this is a foreign expression, consider the motto/slogan: "If it feels good, tastes good, is sensual, uninhibited, stimulating, a little wicked, may shock your mother, involves a trapeze, can be done in the ocean, is healthy, fit, relaxing, or requires a blender....IT'S INCUDED!"
