Romantic Dreams

Ever wonder what romantic dreams reveal about the inner you? Is all the hype regarding dream symbolism and interpretation legitimate? Many believe and even teach how we can use the knowledge of our dreams to enhance our waking lives. Even more interesting — and clearly worth a try and an open mind — is that we may be able to use dreams to improve the quality of our love lives and relationships in general.

Therapist/author, Dr. Judy Kuriansky suggests that there is a special technique for determining what a fantasy or dream means and thus says about you. This technique is performed by simply focusing on five elements: where the dreamscape takes place; what people are involved; what is involved, what is happening, and the feelings the dreamer associates to the dream. Another approach is called free association, where the dreamer allows immediate, non-judgmental impressions to emerge naturally. By merely verbalizing or writing down the first thoughts that randomly pop into the mind upon waking, one may be able to relate personal meanings or "connect" to the dream scenario.

Also worthy of note: sexually-oriented dreams usually are not actually based on sexual issues. Likewise, often seemingly unrelated symbolism or scenes are those which truly stem from sexual relations. So, having a dream in which you are involved in some type of intricate love-making, may just be a neurological response to a career, hobby, or . . . who knows!
