This week I've chosen some elite websites and literature selections on love stories. Before I present my top finds however, there's the issue of defining exactly what comprises a great love story. I'm not referring to fictional romance novels, but rather the true love stories of all times, past as well as present.
In my humble opinion, elite love stories are based upon real life experiences with unconditional love. These are relationships which may include lovers who are faced with serious challenges, yet find a way for their bond to prevail. It's the kind of seemingly destined love that truly endures--either across many ages or simply one which endures tests from the universe and/or society. As I choose to firmly believe, our lives aren't measured by time but by the quality of our loves. So, my ideal love story is one which demonstrates and justifies this maxim. Consequently, my all-time favorite example is The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. Note: Any readers who would like to share their special true love stories are welcomed to e-mail them directly. Include how you and your partner met, the challenges you've worked through together, or simply an explanation of why you feel you're destined to one another.
