In case there is any confusion (or lots) with the terms "newsgroup" & "usenet," or with understanding their functions, I'll start with the basics. Usenet is simply an abbreviation for user's network. It is a worldwide discussion system consisting of thousands of newsgroups. Similar to bulletin boards, newsgroups are classified hierarchically by interest topics. Messages in the form of questions, responses, pictures, etc., are posted to these groups. The messages are then broadcasted via networks. Since there are no public newsgroup servers, availability of groups depends on individual service providers. For a directory of newsgroups, by topics, enter your domain name with "news": preceding it. Newcomers to these forums would be wise to check out the full guidelines at: "news.newusers.questions". If equipped with Netscape, simply click on "window" on the task bar & then go into netscape news.

Next, browse though ----alt.romance &/or alt.love. After some initial lurking, you should be ready to start posting. 3. For those searching for, or fortunate enough to have found a soulmate, try---alt.soulmates 4. If you are looking for a good chatting newsgroup, visit---alt.romance.chat
