Millennium Solstice Moon

As the new millennium approaches, this week offers a few extra special events, inviting an even more momentous basis for the new year. There is a rare full moon on the winter solstice. This dual special occurrence happens Wednesday, December 22. The official solstice happens at 2:44 A.M.

The celestial conditions are so well aligned, that the moon is predicted to appear bigger and brighter than normal, that is, as long as the sky cooperates and the clouds don't interfere. The moon will be the closest to the earth as it will all year.

For ways to make the most of this moonlight and seasonal guidance, consider some of the following suggestions:

  • With your sweetheart, open all the windows and doors in the house for a few minutes to usher in the fresh season. Then, light a fire or as many candles as you can find and snuggle close.
  • Take a drive to a scenic, private location where you can watch the monumental sunset.
  • Sit quietly with your partner, hold hands, and meditate about where your relationship is and where you'd like it to go this year. Just soak up the astrologically predicted auras of good fortunes in love, health, and wealth to fill you with hope for the coming times.
  • Make a promise to your significant other for the coming year...much more meaningful than a resolution, as promises are made for keeping; resolutions almost always lead to breaking!
  • Take a moonlight stroll together through the neighborhood, gazing at the spectacular moon and the holiday lights
  • Write a romantic letter or love poem to your mate, describing how you feel at that highly-charged time of cosmic energizing forces.
  • Light a candle and concentrate on the positive qualities you wish to evoke and carry into this new season/year/millennium with your partner.
  • Kiss for at least ten minutes straight under the full moon's brilliance!

If there is a shred of truth to these forecasted global good vibes, why not let yourself hope for the possibilities that await. After all, this *is the season for believing!! To those romantics that celebrate Christmas or Kwanzaa this week, blessings of love and joy. Next week, in welcoming in the elusive, long-anticipated year 2000, we'll enter the millennium with January romance tips!
