Love in Hand: (Part 1) Palmistry

If asked what part of anatomy are the "windows of the soul," most of us would immediately respond, "the eyes." While there may be some bearing to that understanding, it can just as quickly be challenged. Even though they may mirror current feelings within the individual, eyes also can be deceiving. Some people are masters as disguising their true feelings. Consequently, the eyes can only show current emotions, leaving the rest of the heart and soul locked away. Our hands, however, reveal exactly who we have been, who we are, and who we can become. They are the more accurate, unable to be disguised, true windows of our souls. The hands can therefore be used as valuable learning tools for discovering character, potential, compatibility, and destiny in ourselves and our partners. By understanding the arts of Hand Analysis (through palmistry and hand-writing), we can become more aware and open to our relationships.

Palmistry goes beyond merely interpreting the lines of the hands. The shape of the hands, fingers, joints, and even nails collectively reveal the personal "canvas." For instance, pointed fingers reflect sensitive, romantic types; spatulate fingers (tips shaped liked upside-down triangles) tend to belong to the most faithful types. Each hand also holds its own visions. Whichever is the dominant hand, shows how the person will change (in the future). Likewise, the less dominant hand shows the past and present qualities. The main love-related lines include: the line of the heart (emotions and passions), line of the sun (success and happiness), and lines of affection (relationships). The hands can also tell of broken hearts, multiple loves, passion level, suitable partner types, potential children, and compatibility among partners.

The heart line tells how love can be. It is generally believed that the longer, more clearly defined, and deeper the heart line, the better. (note: it begins on the outer edge--closest to pinky) However, an excessively long heart line (one that extends to the edge of the palm) can signify a possessive, jealous tendency. The ideal heart line would be a pinkish color and would end around the Mount of Jupiter (fleshy mound directly below the pointer finger). This type of line would belong to a highly caring and kind individual. A curved heart line is preferable, while a straight one depicts a less-warm disposition.

The lines of affection appear in several areas of the palm. The most predominant emotional bonds reveal themselves as short, horizontal lines just beneath the pinky's base. Other lines of affection begin and appear on the Mount of Venus (the fleshy area at the thumb's base). These are more vertical in form and may represent love affairs. Also worthy of mention is that the more prominent the Mount of Venus, the higher the associated feelings of love and passion.
