Kama Sutra

When Thomas Moore, best-selling author of Soul Mates, and now , The Soul of Sex responds to the connection of mind, body, and spirit in the sensuous manner, he notes the following : "When we look at the body we are seeing the soul, and when we have sex, we experience the body as a way to the most penetrating mysteries of the soul." Kama Sutra marks one of the most fundamental and earliest plans for connecting lovemaking to a deep, meaningful, sensual and soulful kind of experience.

First, the origins and explanations...

The term "Kama Sutra" can be best understood when broken down into its two distinct parts: Kama is the Hindu love God, and Sutra is a manual or guide. Thus Kama Sutra is essentially an ancient book relating to love and intimacy. More specifically, Kama Sutra of Vatsyanana, is the name of the renowned love manual written in eighteenth century India. It has proven to be truly a timeless guide, inspiring millions of couples worldwide, through many generations and societies. This classic book of lovemaking teachings is philosophically, sensually, and psychologically based. It includes explanations of how to incorporate specific techniques and positions, exotic oils, scents, etc. in order to enhance the sexual experiences.

Many of the Kama Sutra principles have been dismissed through the years, as it is commonly thought to be merely a complicated how-to book of acrobatic sexual techniques. However, the inclusive pleasures are designed to elicit enjoyment for all of our senses and to evoke sensual and soul-connective auras between lovers. The ultimate achievement is experiencing a mutually euphoric state of consciousness, as your bodies unite in lovemaking.
