Fall Dating Guide

It's time again for the second edition to The Romance Suite's seasonal dating guide. The peak foliage time is occurring for many of us, so now is definitely a good time to add some special couple activities. Even if your corner of the world doesn't experience the changes of the season, there are still many romantic events you can enjoy with your special someone. Embrace this time of year and this stage of your relationships with the suggestions below. Some are date options, some are just ideas for seasonal fun. Additional options are welcomed in the forum (linked to the bottom of the page).

  • Enjoy the glory of the Autumn colors by viewing the foliage either on a country road trip or consider taking a small plane tour over the nearest mountainous area
  • How about experiencing the gorgeous seasonal backdrop from afloat a hot air balloon?
  • Take a couple nature walk or hike in a nearby park or even your neighborhood (pack a romantic picnic lunch, as well)
  • Attend a murder mystery dinner theater show in October
  • Go trick-or-treating!
  • Play outside in the fallen leaves (rake them into piles, jump in, have a fire, laugh lots!)
  • Go on a hayride together on an autumn evening. Snuggle close.
  • Visit a haunted house or ghost tour and promise to not let go of each other's hands.
  • Indulge in the mystery and romance of a Halloween dress up party (if not invited to any, host your own) and consider partner costumes
  • Play touch football outdoors on a crisp afternoon.
  • Carve pumpkins together (then roast the seeds and share them instead of popcorn while watching a rented horror flick).
  • If you live together, decorate your place in full spooky splendor. Hang fake cobwebs, Indian corn, bails of hay, scarecrows (homemade ones are the most fun to make), pumpkins, gourds, etc.
  • Hang out in bed and feed each other left over Halloween candies in your pajamas.
  • While in bed, read to each other (under the glow of a flashlight) from a scary ghost story or mystery.
  • Buy some colorful Mums at a nursery or garden center and plant them together.
  • Heat some apple cider and sip it over a night in front of the first lighting of a fireplace for the season. Talk about the good memories you've shared since the last one.
  • Attend a college or pro football game (cuddle under a blanket and cheer on the team).
