Sex Appeal

Last week, the topic was what turns us on (and off). The discussion forum is and will remain open for input. If anyone would prefer to privately e-mail thoughts and opinions triggered by that article, please do so at shellz@unforgettable.com.

This week, as previously hinted, the topic moves on to the issue of sex appeal. The specific question to explore is: What exactly is "sexy"? To every person, just as with turn ons and turn offs, the images vary, but it's interesting to see what most appeals to others.

First for the formal depictions. Webster's dictionary describes sexy as: "sexually suggestive or stimulating: erotic... generally attractive or interesting: appealing"

The synonymns are down-right humorous and "colorful!" According to the thesaraurus, the following words relate to "sexy": risque, blue, purple (...anyone have a clue about those?), broad(?), off-color(?), racy, salty, shady, spicy, suggestive.

Again, I welcome input on the following poll/questionnaire. Share your ideas of what you personally find most sexy in each of the categories below. For fairness, and hopefully to spark some feedback, I'll even include mine first. Check out the discussion forum (linked, as always, at the end of the article) for those, and enter your own takes on sexiness, as well.

  • clothing - casual, dress, jeans, suits, skirts, etc.
  • hair - color, length, style, texture
  • eyes - color
  • body - build, height, weight
  • shoes - sneakers, boots, heels, loafers...
  • car - truck, sports, Jeep, station wagon :)
  • gestures - smile, walk, voice, dance, etc.
  • mind - intelligent, intellectual, free-thinker, street smart...
  • other - free form of what is sexy
