Finally, to stop the destruction of her friends and town, Miranda decides to go with Drake to Damaina and agrees to his demands to marry him. She continues despite pleas from Drake's elfin sister, Lianne, and Miranda's newly found grandfather.

Meanwhile, Mary Ellen Campbell has been haunted by a spirit with violet eyes just like Miranda's. She knows that only by attempting to assist Miranda will she ever be able to rest easily again. She takes an ancient dusty bag of herbs, some now extinct, from a hidden corner and insists that her daughter takes her immediately to Damaina.

Hadden and Steven discover that Miranda has disappeared and they set out to follow her to Damaina too.

They arrive to interrupt the wedding ceremony just as Miranda is about to say "I do". A scuffle ensues, resulting in Drake's death and the incarceration of the strangers. The council meets to determine what should be done with them. Meanwhile Miranda is becoming weaker and both Hadden and Mary Ellen know that she will die without help but the only option they have is risky...

This is another very readable e-romance from Jewel Dartt. You will empathise with Miranda and Hadden and be moved by their struggle to triumph over the conflicts between Miranda's humanity and the encroachment of her loup-garou heritage.
