Lieutenant Carly Callahan's fighter jet crashes into the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Spain and is fished out of the ocean by Sir Andrew Spencer, captain of the Phoenix. Sir Andrew, the tall, tanned and handsome hunk of man with striking blue eyes who spends all his time sailing the seas planning his revenge on the duke of Westridge. Andrew believes Carly is Amanda Paxton, the spoiled heiress who is promised to the duke. Amanda's ship sunk and she was believed to be the only survivor. Andrew plans to use Amanda as bait to lead the duke to him. There is an old, bitter rivalry between the two men. When Carly sees the nineteenth century ship, she thinks it is a restoration, then she sees the Capitan's log, dated 1821. And then another nineteenth century ship? She knew had somehow managed to go back in time. Lord Spencer thinks Amanda was hit in the head when she fell overboard. The entire group of men on the Phoenix believes she is Lady Amanda and was totally smitten with the mischievous and spirited young lady. Lady Amanda was considered "precious cargo." Andrew bent over backwards to care for her. What would it take for Carly to convince Andrew that she is not Lady Amanda? Would he be able to forget his inner war with the duke? Would pride and revenge keep them apart? This had a great twist ending. Once a Pirate is comical, sensuous, and erotic. Susan Grant is a great storyteller. She spent 20 years flying for the Air Force and as an airline pilot. She was a Golden Heart finalist two years in a row. 3 Stars Go To Page: 1
