Sand Pirates Ellis Hoff Ponder Romance 1999 ISBN: 0-9681587-2-2

When Petra Logan, heiress tries to leave the island of Sava with her fiancé, someone or something tries to keep her there. Petra is stopped for a traffic infraction by the island Burgomaster, Frans Vondel when the ship sails without her.

Even though Petra and Clark argued the night before, how dare he leave the island without her? True, she refused to go with him, but he didn't really believe her, did he? And how DARE this Burgomaster (whatever that is) detain her for something she was completely innocent of? Or was she?

Marshall Logan owns one the most prosperous banks around and Clark Martin, a trusted employee decides he is going to marry Logan's only daughter after he saves her from a near drowning. Even though Petra gets along with Clark, you get the feeling that she doesn't love him. Petra couldn't believe he said she was frigid! She wondered if their marriage was doomed to be cold and empty. But she still felt like she owed it to Martin to marry him. After all, he did save her from drowning, didn't he?

Petra fights with Vondel trying to get out of custody for this ridiculous situation. Of course, she starts to think that maybe the Burgomaster isn't quite so bad.

Clark secretly works for Alexander Trumad, organized crime lord and you will find yourself smiling from the situations he finds himself in and the wonderful supporting cast.

This is Ellis Hoff's first book. Ms. Hoff is working on her second book. Fast pacing and suspense will keep you turning the pages. 4 Stars!
