Oh Susannah
Selena Mindus
Ponder Romance 1997
ISBN: 0-9681587-0-6
Problems arise when Susannah has to learn to take care of herself and her children. Her entire life, someone has taken care of her. She can't even cook and with two young boys she better learn fast. As children often are, they are the bridge to new friendships for Susannah. One lovely neighbor takes her under her wing to not only teach her to cook but to of course, find a wife for the young farmer that lives across the river. Gabriel Desjarlais, Metis, Polish and French, is the handsome farmer that just happens to end up living across the river and runs Susannah off the road on her bicycle. Not a great way to start a friendship. Gabriel shows up one morning and it cutting wood for Susannah when she wakes up. When Susannah jumps to the wrong conclusion, the romance begins. Susannah of course has no idea what Gabriel wants from her. He either doesn't make his feelings clear to her or she is confusing the signals. Will she be able to move on after the death of her husband? What would Steven want her to do? When Susannah meets the family at a wedding social, sparks fly and I won't tell you why. You will have to read the book. This was a quick read and my first from Ponder Publishing. Lighthearted and thoughtful. This is a keeper. I love to read where they use English spelling versus American spelling. It's romantic. This is Ms. Mindus' first book. 4 Stars! Go To Page: 1 |
