When America's Most Eligible Bachelor, John Harriman is having business meetings in the Florida Keys, Josephine Reilly can't understand why all the women she knows and sees on television are so hot for this man. It wasn't like he was a real person. He was one of those people that were untouchable by any average person.
When she finds a stranger on her quiet stretch of beach, she takes him in like a lost puppy. When she managed to get him home and in bed to rest, she realized who the stranger was. It was no other than the famous, rich and handsome John Harriman! (Boy what I wouldn't do to have a handsome man wake up on my beach.) When he woke up, he didn't know who he was and he refused to go to the hospital. The only thing he did remember was that someone wanted to kill him. He didn't share that information with his rescuer, just yet.
John Harriman, Presumed dead at sea, the papers and the news said. Hunky Harriman begged Josie for one week to figure out what happened to him and why. Against her better judgment, she gave in. She told him who he really was. Nothing she tried helped him regain his memory.
When he was well enough, he helped around the bar that her family owned. He felt that he owed Josie for saving him and keeping her promise to not tell anyone he was there. John went by the name of "Harry" short for Harriman. Josie bought him some clear glasses and no one was ever the wiser that they had the Worlds Most Eligible Bachelor among them.
The family likes him and it is comical with her mother trying to play matchmaker. Her mom and step-dad loved him and she was falling for him too, no matter how much she argued with herself. Josie knew that once John regained his memory that he would leave. One heartache was enough for Josie. She refused to go through that pain again. Josie couldn't get involved with him, no matter what. It would only end in heartache. I have to root for Josie because Harry is not the kind of man she thought he'd be. But is that because he's Harry and doesn't know what John is like?
What is any great hero to do? He made it impossible for Josie to not fall for him. He understood falling in love was a risk for her. Can Harry/John ease her fear?
