What is it about space that fascinates Man so? For hundreds of years, Man has looked to the skies and tried to make head or tails of what is out there, to even investigate the theory that there's other life forms.
The legend of Roswell, the theory that aliens were thought to create the Pyramids and the countless alien sightings may point to aliens truly existing in our or other solar systems. But with the governments of the world denying any conspiracy theory, the question remains, why does Man strive to go beyond the skies? Whether it is our natural curiosity or to meet aliens, Man's focus is set directly at the stars, and with a space station currently set up, this is a true commitment of Man taking a step into outer space and getting to know what surrounds earth. Throughout the ages, scientists have looked towards the stars. In 1610, Galileo with the same aspirations, founded four satellites around Jupiter. Today additonal satellites have been found as well as rings around Jupiter. Other facts gleamed about this planet are: Mass: 1858.6 kg Volume: 143.128 kms Axis: 3.13 Escape Velocity: 59.5 Day: 9.925 hours Year: 11 or so earth years Atmosphere: 10% Helium 90% Hydrogen Jupiter has also a red patterned face, with a Red Spot which displays extreme weather and is 142 800 km in diameter. All these facts show that Jupiter is a large planet which is uninhabitable to Man. This puts Jupiter, the planet, like the Roman god in the limelight. Juptier, the god, is larger than life and a protector of Rome. A force to be reckoned with and the head of the Roman gods. Also called Jupiter Optimus Maximus, he and Zeus are similar with the exception of their origins (Zeus was a Greek god). Jupiter is the son of Saturn. His family consists of other great gods such as his sister, Juno. Juno is also his spouse and his daughter is Minerva. With greatness at his side, he is represented as a mix of the imperialism of Julius Caesar and the look of Hercules. In some pictures he's wearing robes, has a walking stick, beard, deep set features and heavy set frame. The image shows him as a formidable force, and the Roman people elevated him from an average diety to that of king of Roman gods. He could bring prosperity, even a temple in Rome existed in his honour. Next Month meet the daughter of Jupiter. What is her story and does she try to overthrow her father? Go To Page: 1
