Mick Jagger and Keith Richards first met each other as primary school mates who lived down the block from each other. Years later, they bumped into each other on a train platform and Richards spied the American blues records under Mick's arm. Their love of American music became the foundation for a life long friendship. The dynamic duo soon teamed up with Brian Jones to form The Rolling Stones. Charlie Watts was working as a graphic artist for an advertising agency and playing gigs on weekends when Mick and Keith convinced him to join the group. The Stones' bad-boy image and "anti-Beatles" stance was created by manager Andrew Oldham and first fed to Americans via Ed Sullivan's television show.
