Hebert "Bert" Richards
Years later he would tell people how glad he was that he and Bert were together again:
Now I bless the fact that he's still around to get to know. I mean... he can sit in the sun every day of the year. He loves the sun, my dad; he can't play tennis anymore, his legs have gone. He likes to be out in the open, to swim and garden and anything as long as it's outside. Because he spent his life in a goddamn warehouse. He used to get up at four-thirty in the morning and back at seven o'clock at night. He had the same job before he went into the army an when he came out with half his leg shot up, he went back to it.. (Booth, p. 161-162)
Fans reported seeing Bert in a wheelchair at one of the last Stones' concerts in England in 1999. I'm sure he was proud of his famous son. I'm also sure that both Bert and Keith are thankful for the past 18 years.
