The album Goats Head Soup was released in the US on Aug. 31, 1973. Star Star was originally called Starfucker but Atlantic Records head, Ahmet Ertegun made the bad boys change it to something less offensive. On the sheet music for the song, the word starfucker was changed to starbucker. Of course, at the time it was considered outrageous to say "fuck " on a record.

I've always thought of the Stones as equal opportunity offenders. There's something in this song to offend many people. For all the offense the lyrics might cause, it is a hopping little number that's fun to sing and dance to. The song features Keith doing his best Chuck Berry which is pretty damn good if you ask me.
