Jagger's Brazilian Baby Makes Photo Debut
RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) - Brazil's glossy gossip magazine Caras displayed the first exclusive photographs of Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger's newborn son Wednesday, together with rare comments by the baby's Brazilian mother. In a seven-page spread, the magazine showed 29-year-old Brazilian model Luciana Morad in various states of undress holding Jagger's pink-faced baby boy, who was born May 18 in a New York hospital. Morad told Caras, which generally flatters the celebrities it highlights in exchange for exclusive access, that she had been hounded by paparazzi since the birth of Lucas Morad Jagger and was basically sequestered in her New York apartment. "Mick told me that my life would change completely. Practically everything he predicted has happened to me," Morad was quoted by Caras as saying. She said photographers had poised as deliverymen for flowers at the hospital and had even rented apartments in the building across the street from hers to try to get a shot of the famous love child through the windows. Morad's relationship with the flamboyant British rock star contributed to the break-up of his long marriage to Jerry Hall, who filed for divorce after learning of the affair. Jagger acknowledged last week that he was Lucas' father after DNA tests proved his paternity. Jagger, 56, already has four children with Hall, one with his first wife Bianca Jagger and another with author and actress Marsha Hunt. Morad said Jagger, who met her at a party after a Rolling Stones concert in Rio de Janeiro, was providing both emotional and financial support for her and the baby, but she insisted that the pregnancy had been accidental and not a bid for cash. "I'm not an idiot. I have always used contraceptives and never had problems," she told Caras. "The problem is that people think a single mother only has one option, that of abortion, and whoever doesn't choose that option is seen as opportunistic." Although Morad has been reticent in the past about publicly discuss her relationship with Jagger, she revealed a few details of their first meeting 15 months ago to Caras. She said that she had caught his attention because she was the only woman at the Rio party who spoke English but they had not started dating until meeting up again at other events and parties around the world. Morad refused, however, to talk about the role her child with Jagger may have played in the end
