What Can A Poor Boy Do?

By now everyone has heard about Jerry Hall (42) filing for divorce from Mick Jagger (55). The Feb. 1, 1999 issue of People features Mick and Jerry on the cover with the caption "IT'S ALL OVER NOW". Puns abound in the article which at one point states that Jerry is looking for an emotional - and financial - rescue. The article goes on to explain that Hall decided to divorce Jagger once she heard that he had made model Luciana Morad (28) pregnant.

The article quotes Mick's masseuse, Dot Stein, as saying, "Jerry could forgive the one-night stands but this pregnancy is one embarrassing slap in the face." This statement seems odd to me, it's as if Jerry thinks a child can't be the result of a one-night stand. Or that the baby makes the relationship more serious. I wonder if that's how she felt about her own relationship: it wasn't serious until they had a baby or four.

Mistresses should know this because they've helped them. Jerry's affair with Mick lead to his divorce from Bianca. How could she really expect him to be faithful to her? Did she fall into the "I can change him" trap? Did she think she had him by the "short and curlies" (sorry, couldn't resist!)? I wonder how long it took before Jerry realized that nothing about Mick was going to change.

At some point she must have figured out that Mick was not going to be monogamous because she retaliated in kind by having affairs with Robert Sangster, Lord James Neidpath and Count Adam Zamoyski while pressuring Mick to make her his Mrs. Eventually Mick gave in and the couple were married in Bali. End of story, or so we thought.

Now that Hall has hired Princess Diana's divorce lawyers things are going to get ugly. Mick is
