2001 CFD FINALS Bull Riding Champion Sunday’s go-round winner was Tyler Wade Fowler of Theodore, AL with an 86 winning ride, but not enough to put him in the top 2 winners of the average. KC Blue Stone of N. Ogden, UT placed second Sunday and took the average with his three teeth-clenching rides, 76, 77, 85, totaling 238. 2001 CFD FINALIST BAREBACK BRONC RIDING Sunday rocked for Lan Lajeunesse of Morgan, UT. His Sunday ride netted him an 85, the Sunday prize money, and combining his other rides of 84 and 77, he greeted fans with a smile on his face, $13,383 in his pocket, and the CFD buckle. 2001 CFD FINALS Saddle Bronc Riding The Saddle Bronc title went to Nebraska’s son, Todd Hipsag. His second place score of 84 on Skoals Bath Bubbles was all he needed to put him in first place for the average with a 242. His 9-day earnings totaled $13,786. 2001 CALF ROPING Tommy Guy’s 13.5 run on Sunday gave him the go-round, but Cody Ohl stayed in it to win the average with Sunday’s 16.0 run, giving him an average of 41.8 and a $18,147 purse to put in his pocket. 2001 BARREL RACING Gloria Freeman, Calhoun GA, snapped up the 2001 CFD Barrel Racing buckle and $10,944 purse. Gloria proved that consistent runs are winners with her 17.60, 17.35, and 17.57, for 52.52 combined. Kelly Yates, Pueblo, CO’s sweetheart, ranked second in the average. Elbert, CO’s Kristie Peterson placed 4th with 52.93 seconds, and Charmayne James struggled in Cheyenne with a 17th place finish at 35.69 and did not make the Sunday finals. The All-Around Champion buckle went to Stephenville, Texas’s Cody Ohl, who also won the calf roping title. He placed third in the first round of steer roping, winning over $4,000 added to his $18,147 calf-roping title for a total earnings of $22,235 and the All-Around Champ title. Want more stats?
