CFD 2000 Calf Roping Champion Fred Whitfield
Here's a summary of the PRCA rodeo events and the winners for Cheyenne Frontier Days 2000 with their times and dollar winnings.

Final Round for Steer Roping was Trevor Brazile from Decatur, TX at13.5, round winnings of $1,225. This was enough to put him in the championship circle with a 3-round total of 41.6 and take home of $7,895.

Bareback Bronc Riding's final round went to Wes Stevenson of Kaufman, TX with a score of 86 on Big Valley Skoal which netted him a cool $2,000. His win wasn't enough to get him the championship. Taking fourth place in this round kept Robert Bowers of Brooks, Alberta, Canada in the running. With a total 3-roun score of 242, Bowers took him the Bareback Bronc Riding buckle and a cash prize of $6,366.

The spine tingling event of Bull Riding offered an amazing 86 point ride in the final round to Greg Potter from Whitt, Texas on ZZ. But Jason Nunnemaker of Willits, California gave the ride of his life in this round, pulling an 84 on Ronda Mahan and the CFD championship, for a 3-round score of 234. Jason's dismount found him caught up, with thanks to clown Dwayne Hargo who distracted the bull long enough for Jason to get the heck out of there. Jason's consolation prize was $8,251.

Hockley, Texas' Fred Whitfield's show in Calf Roping was amazing as always. He needed better than 13.3 to win and win he did at 13.0 seconds. His run here gave him a comfortable 3-round total of 39.5 and his third time win at Cheyenne, , taking home winnings of $10,542.

Steer Wrestling's Wyoming cowboy Sean Mulligan wrested an 8.0 from his steer in the final round to win a purse of $1,449. His home state rewarded him with the championship buckle and he returned the favor with a 3-round 22.6 seconds, taking home $9.065, a new record for the most money collected in a single event.

Canadian Saddle Bronc Riders took over in Cheyenne. The final round went to Glen O'Neill from Water Valley, Alberta with 84 points on Sandra Dee and a $2,000 pay-off. It wasn't enough for the championship, but the buckle still went to a Canadian. Rod Hay, Wildwood, Alberta with 3-round total of 239 and purse of $7,018.

The women's Barrel Racing title was won by a mere six one-hundredths of a second. Kristie Peterson from Elbert, Colorado won the final
