And maybe the Stardust Cowboys' "Paralyzed" is the greatest song ever written, who knows? Bowie sure liked it he borrowed his name from him, or so some say. There is another whole section of experimental music Anyone who wants to seek out a trip to the moon should buy the second LP by The Seventh Wave called 'psi - fi',Truly unique, it came out in '75............

Also of note: Check out a Bomp issue from March 1978, which has a special "Glitter section."It talks about a lot of the genre which our friends today call "Junkshop glam." Also in that issue is the John Hewlette story which discusses long-lost 70s band such as Jook and Milk N Cookies, and there is another section it it which discusses power-pop, all the early '70s stuff from the Raspberries to a tiny band called Pony..........

Our '70s Invasion site has galleries which have two special discographies taken from this issue. They can be seen on our page 21 links. Recently, some friends of ours did a radio show for WFMU. You can hear a lot of this Junkshop Glam that RPM records has been putting out for the last few years, which mostly consisted of small bands, most of whom only had 1 or 2 or 3 45s released in that lost era from '73 to '75. Today a lot of it is considered pre-punk..........You can download that show on our downloads, page 2 Look for "WFMU," There you can finally hear Ricki Wilde's "Teen Wave"which some think is the greatest glam song of the '70s, He is Kim Wilde's brother, son of Marty Wilde.

Currently, we're doing a promo for Rave-Up Records in Italy. They resurrect lost '70s U.S. punk music. They have lotsa great stuff. Recently, we've been listening to 2 bands of the late '70s called the Contenders and the Backstabbers. They sound so much like Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers; it's really something else.

That's about all for now. I want to mention that anyone serious about 70s punk should seek out 2 amazing lps by Third World War, they are some really heavy authentic UK working class pre-punk like no other, leaders TERRY STAMP and JIM AVERY are still at it,...... singing about 'Nightingale's and lost dreams.............

P.S.

When we first got online we wondered how we would put everything into a format. At the time I was reading a newsletter by a Krishna devotee and friend of ours, Prtha Devi Dasi, who has a newsletter which still comes out every month with current news, archived scriptures and even odds and ends like recipes, that's when I got to thinking that we too could list random info in some kind of format, and thus the '70s invasion was born.
