Dead Men Walking-Old School Punk Supergroup Is Alive And Kicking
Cult guitarist Billy Duffy, who collaborated with Peters on 1999's Colorsound CD provides the fine guitar work as demonstrated on such Cult faves as Love Removal Machine & She Sells Sanctuary as well as dozens of lesser-known gems. While songwriting partner goes off to tour with the Doors, Billy keeps the Cult's music alive with Mike Peters as a substitute vocalist. Kirk Brandon, (another one of Billy's ex-bandmates, this time from Theatre Of Hate) rounds out the ensemble.
Performing songs culled from the catalogue of all the members' former/current/soon to be re-formed bands, the lead vocals are handled primarily by Peters. There is no dearth of material here. Fan reviews from the UK summer shows indicate that a sweaty, fun time was had by all. Far from Dead, those middle-aged rockers are touring their butts off in the UK. They will return to England in September to finish up and may be playing a date or two in the U.S., though this hasn't been confirmed.
