Inevitably, one customer always feels left out, unassisted, etc. This can cause you to lose a sale and worse yet, a lifelong customer. Here are some tips on how to avoid and remedy this situation. 1. Even if you are swamped, smile, nod your head, or make eye contact with the customer. Let them know that you see them and that you will be with them as soon as possible. Acknowledging the customer is the most important thing you can do when you are on the sales floor. 2. Quickly tell the customers you’ll assist them or make efforts to get assistance. 3. Make light conversation instead of getting stressed. Customer sense stress and it is contagious! Try to keep them happy with a little humor and a calm demeanor. 4. Invite waiting customers to look a new products will they wait. It will help pass the time and it may translate into added sales when you are able to help them. 5. Ask the waiting customer if they are looking for anything specific. If not, let them browse around until you can assist them. If there is, point them in right direction and let them know you will return soon. I hope these tips help with your customer service!!
